Make a branching form in microsoft forms so in situations wherein you would like the flow of the form to be dependent on the on one of the responses.
So that's called branching so for example if you look at this form the first question here is which brand of car would you like to buy.
And then there are three options that come up on the form so what we want to do here is when the user selects ford we want these options to appear only.
And not these two and when the user selects honda we want only the honda options to appear not the ford in toyota so that's called branching.
So now let's see how do we make this branching feature in microsoft forms so let's quickly go and open forms.office.com i have just opened a blank form.
Link in the description okay so quickly let's start this is our blank form now if you go back to this okay the first question is a multiple choice.
Which brand of car would you like to buy let me copy this to make it quicker let's add a new so we need a choice.
Okay the first one is ford second is honda that's another one and third one is a.
Toyota okay so so these circles means these are the option buttons so the user can select only one if you want.
The user to select more than one we can make the check boxes so you can make a check box you can make it an option button so this is multiple choices the user can select more than.
One here
So now let's go with only one option which is the option button okay so the first question is done let's type the.Second third and fourth quickly add a new choice ford card model mustang then.
add one more option let's keep it three for now okay the second question is done then moving on to the third question.
The honda car model choice is the third one honda yes okay the fourth one.
Is the toyota question add new choice fortuner .
Okay so the form is prepared so we have the four questions here now let's look at the preview before we do anything else so the preview has all the questions in.
Which the user can select if he selects this still he has all the options available to select the other models as well so let's go back and do some changes.
Here okay so now click on this and he click on this three dots you will see an option called add branching okay click on this.
Okay so now you will see the different options so when the user clicks on ford where do you want the form to go to okay go to the.
You can click on the drop down and
Select which question next should appear okay so here we want the second one to appear so select. The ford car model the same way for honda if the user selects honda we want this question to appear after that the user selects toyota we want this one to appear so that's how.
You make the change here so that's about the branching for this one now look at the preview okay so let's see if the you select food you see the ford.
Honda and toyota still and click on honda you still see honda and toyota when you click on toyota you only see toyota but that's not how.
We want right so it's ford we want only four to appear not honda and toyota so let's go back and do some more changes.
Click on the ford car model and then click on branching for this one as well the for food what you need to do is click on this and say go to end of the form.
Select go to end of the form select go to end of the form the same way click on the honda select end of the form end of the form end of the form same way for this.
Question as well click on end of the form end of the form okay so we have done this and now let's see what happens let's go to the preview.
Click on forward and see only four is appearing click on honda see only honda is appearing click on toyota only toyota is appearing.
So that's how you add branching that's how you make the form more meaningful so that's it guys i hope you love this short.
